Why lie

Today I was thinking of the word, lie and wondered why we lie?

Two days ago I put the last jigsaw puzzle piece together, it took me five years to finally learn the truth.

Finding out if a person lied to us may take us a few minutes, hours, a day, a month or for some even after many years before we find out that the person has lied to us.

Jesus, on the other hand, already knew from the very start that Judas will betray him, but he did not say anything about it.Truth should be the foundation of our goals, our relationships, our spiritual growth and physical needs.

We cannot set our foundation on lies and betrayal. The foundation that builds on lie might succeed in its initial stages but will definitely fail in the future.

The foundation that builds on lie will also build on from that lie through to our future generations who unfortunately are the ones who will suffer the consequences of these lies.It is not difficult to cut off such foundation from our generations if we have Jesus who is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

The pharisees and the teachers of the law were always determined and ready to persecute Jesus through lies.

Ordinary people like us too can tell lies about others or try to trap others with lies, but why?Why can’t we build our foundation on truth?

Truth will last forever, truth will make us go through hardships that will eventually be successful.
Basically, do not lie.
Good Friday is approaching.
As we take time to reflect upon our relationship with our Lord let us also stop being Judas towards each other.
